| ... yada yada
i feel like: oh my Lord how can i do it all and do it well? and i feel like: everything is going to be alright. i'm just a drop in the big big ocean and i don't need to try to make ripples.
i feel like: we're so fascinated by the Church this and the church that and we're supposed to be doing this and we're supposed to be doing that. and i feel like: it would be nice to be just enamored with the Lord.
i feel like: i'm glad christmas is over. and i feel like: i'm really glad christmas is over.

| Does not man see that We created him from a sperm; and behold he is a manifest trouble-maker? And he produced an equal for Us [shirk-idol], forgetting Our creating him. He said: "Who brings the bones back to life, once they are withered?" Say: "He Who originated them the first time will bring them back to life and He has knowledge of every creation." It is He Who produces fire from green trees for you; and behold you are kindling flames from it. Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth able, then, to create the like of them? Yes, indeed, and He is the All-Knowing Creator.
criticism in stride, you could preach the Gospel from that text. what better way for Allah to re-create, or restore the manifest trouble-makers to faith and good works, except to become like one created from sperm, suffer the withering of bones, and then bring them back to life as the first-born of the new creation? no better way, for He is the All-Knowing Creator.

| i'm 2/3 through the Quran. it's good, but wicked repetitive and totally obsessed with burning the sinners in hell. he he i just had a thought "like jonathon edwards," but that's not really true. my biggest contention with it is that it portends to be a "greater" or "final" revelation in the line of the hebrew and christian scriptures. um, no. not even close. even if the first couple chapters of Genesis, a couple of psalms, and mark was all we had, we'd have a lot more than is in this book. sorry if you're Muslim reading this and get offended. i'm reading your scriptures; why don't you take that offense-energy and read the first couple chapters of Genesis, psalm 1&2, and the gospel of Mark, and get back to me...
ya know when you have required reading for a course... what counts as reading? i mean, there's reading slow, at learning pace and taking some time between chapters to mull it over and get some coffee... and there's speed reading with breaks at the hour, 100pp/hr. no contemplation. then there's scanning for interesting paragraphs, maybe one or two a page, and reading those...
